The Best Pizza in Soho NY is just around the corner…so keep reading.
When I visited New York City for the first time in 7 years back in 2021, I spent a lot of time in downtown Manhattan—Soho being one of the neighborhoods I loved. Reason being: there are so many shops. A lot of brands have their flagship location in Soho, so I had to visit. (Fun fact: There is no sales tax on clothing items under $100 in NYC!)
After a long day of shopping, there’s nothing better than a warm, carb-packed slice of pizza to get me going. If you’re like me, here’s a list of the Best Pizza in Soho NY to help with post-shopping hunger!
1. Famous Ben’s Pizza
You can find Famous Ben’s Pizza on the corner of Spring and Thompson Street. It’s a well-known spot for Silician slices, as it’s even been featured in movies like “Men in Black 2” and “Sex and the City”.
I tried their famous Palermo Sicilian Pizza ($7), which was topped with a sauteed onion sauce, bread crumbs, and olive oil. I wasn’t expecting to like the Palermo that much because it doesn’t have any mozzarella, but I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was thick and fluffy, but the star was definitely the sweet onion flavor.
The Palermo was a unique pizza unlike anything I’ve had before—I highly recommend paying Famous Ben’s a visit.

2. Rubirosa
Rubirosa is an Italian restaurant that has a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition—so you know it has to be good.
The dining room felt warm and cozy; the vibes were a bit similar to that of Buca Di Beppo, like a homestyle Italian family restaurant. They sell whole pies here, so keep that in mind if you are coming alone!
After looking through the different types of pies they offered, I settled on the TIE DYETM Pizza ($28 for a small pie). It’s topped with fresh whole milk mozzarella and 3 different sauces: vodka, tomato, and pesto.
When it comes to Italian sauces, those are my top three. So, it was no surprise that I really enjoyed this pizza. Each sauce packed their own individual punch, but also all worked beautifully together. You can also choose to add more toppings for an additional fee.

3. Upside Pizza
Upside Pizza was one of the places I happened to stumble upon as I shopped my way down Spring Street—andI’m so glad I found it. It’s SO underrated because I have yet to see it mentioned on any “Best Pizza in NYC” lists.
I’m not the biggest fan of mushrooms in general, but their Mushroom, WWLC slice looked very enticing. It has a white wine lemon cream sauce, fresh mozzarella, low moisture mozzarella, sauteed mushrooms—all finished with lemon zest, parsley, black pepper, and parmigiano reggiano.
The sauce was creamy and light, while the mushrooms were smoky and full of umami flavor. The lemon also added a touch of brightness to the slice, which made my taste buds sing.
One of the best slices I’ve had. Absolutely delicious. No notes.

4. Scarr’s Pizza
Okayyy… so technically Scarr’s Pizza is not in Soho. It’s located on Orchard Street in the Lower East Side, but it’s still within walking distance of Soho.
There always seems to be long lines, but I decided to wait it out to see if Scarr’s pizza really lived up to the hype. I tried the Hotboi ($4.75), which is usually topped with beef pepperoni, jalapeños, and Mike’s Extra Hot Honey (but I told them to hold the pepperoni since I don’t eat red meat).
I love adding hot honey to savory dishes, so I was super excited to try this pizza. The jalapeños offered a light heat that the sweetness of the honey enhanced. I’m sure it would have been even better paired with the saltiness of the pepperoni!
Verdict: it does live up to the hype.

5. Lucia Pizza
Lucia Pizza has two spots: the original location in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn and the other on Canal Street in Soho. I’m glad they opened one in Manhattan because from what I’ve heard, it’s tricky to get to their Brooklyn location with public transit.
I ordered the Cream of Spinach slice ($5), which was something I haven’t seen on any other menus yet (unless I just haven’t been paying attention). It has cream of spinach and a 3 cheese blend.
It tasted like alfredo sauce with spinach added to it, but what I really liked about this slice was the crispiness of the crust. I’m not too particular about how I like my pizza crusts, but this slice had the perfect balance of crunch and chew. Each slice is also finished with fresh basil and pecorino cheese. Chef’s kiss!

6. Prince Street Pizza
Prince Street Pizza is an iconic NYC pizza joint. Besides Joe’s Pizza, Prince Street Pizza was the other popular pizza spot I knew of before moving here. This place is always pretty packed with people that are looking to try their famous Sicilian Slices.
The walls had photos of the owner with celebrities that have visited, which was a testament to Prince Street Pizza’s popularity.
I tried the Spicy Vodka Square ($6.25) and my friend tried the Spicy SpringTM Square ($6.50). The crust was thick and chewy, while the vodka sauce was flavorful and tangy. It was a really delicious square slice. My friend also really enjoyed her square, as she thought the little pepperonis were adorable and the homemade marinara sauce was light and fresh.
New Yorkers might say this place is overrated, but I think it’s definitely worth checking out—especially for big fans of a hearty Sicilian slice.

7. Champion Pizza Soho
From the outside, Champion Pizza seems like a little, unsuspecting pizza joint. Once you step inside, you’re greeted with a neon sign and sooo many specialty pizzas to choose from. The typical cheese and pepperoni pizzas were getting old, so it was refreshing to see all the options they had. I think I counted more than 20 on the menu… From Mac & Cheese to Lasagna Pizzas, they had quite the selection of nontraditional flavors.
It took me a while to decide which pizza I wanted, but after much deliberating, I went with the Chicken Chipotle ($5.50). It had chicken, chipotle sauce, mayo, and cheese—which sounds like an odd combo, but trust me, it works. The pizza also had a thin crust, which made sure that each bite wasn’t too overwhelming or heavy. It was a good pizza and I thought it was scrumptious!
If you’re looking to try something different, Champion Pizza is the place to go.

8. Eataly
Yes, I know Eataly isn’t the first place you think of when someone says to name pizza places, but hear me out. They have some of the best Italian hot foods that you can get quickly. Their slices are definitely on the pricier side; yet, it’s worth it for the quality (they’re handmade every day with Italian flour!!). It’s also fun to roam around the marketplace and peruse all the speciality items.
I got the Cinque Formaggi ($8.90), which I believe translates to Five Cheese. The cheeses were all melty and gooey, delivering so much cheesy goodness in a bite (might I say better than a classic cheese slice??). It would be so much better if the slice was a bit bigger though… I ate the whole thing in 2 minutes!
Stop by Eataly if you’re looking to try a variety of Italian offerings—not just pizza. I will be back to try their focaccia sandwiches, which everyone raves about.
