Bankers and tourists: here are the 10 Best Coffee Shops in the Financial District NYC.
Since moving to New York City, I have to admit—I hardly visit the Financial District (FiDi) since it’s in lower Manhattan. FiDi is a great place to see if you’re visiting the city for the first time, as it’s home to iconic NYC landmarks like Wall Street, World Trade Center, and Battery Park. The vibes there are quintessential New York hustle and bustle—though I would probably avoid going on a weekday unless you want to interact with some bankers!
With all the hard work being done on Wall Street, they must need some caffeine to keep them going. Good thing there are plenty of spots to grab some good coffee! These are the 10 Best Coffee Shops in the Financial District NYC…
Coffee Shops in Financial District NYC
1. Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee
Jack opened the first Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee location back in 2003, making it New York City’s first 100% organic coffee shop (it also is a vegan bakery!). The coffee beans they use are ethically-sourced, organic, and shade-grown. The way Jack’s is brewing coffee is different from most other places because they use the stir brew method, which introduces the technique of stirring grounds to fully extract the flavor of the beans.
I ordered the Stir Brew ($3.25), since I had to try the drink they’re known for. Sitr brewing is supposed to help with an even extraction and maybe it was just a placebo, but I could really taste the difference. Each sip I had was the same: full-bodied and smooth. It was a solid cup of coffee that I would get again.
To be fair, this Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee location is technically in Tribeca and not FiDi; I wouldn’t consider the distance too far considering you would be getting quality coffee drinks. This is a great spot to grab something quick if you’re in the area!

2. Voyager Espresso
Tucked away in a subway passage on William Street is the specialty coffee roaster Voyager Espresso. It might be a bit hard to find at first since it’s literally in the subway station. I thought it was cute how their name is a nod to space and scientific discovery, which ties back to their philosophy of blending creativity and science to make quality drinks. The place also gave off cozy, interstellar vibes.
They roast their coffee in small batches to ensure that you’re getting the freshest coffee upon brewing. From single-origin coffees to signature blends, there’s a wide variety of coffees to choose from! The Lavender Milky Way ($6) is their version of a lavender oat latte, and they even use a house-made lavender syrup. It was perfectly sweet and not too overwhelming, as some lavender drinks can be. The richness of the coffee also shone through.
Their food menu had a few light bites for a small breakfast. When I see avocado toast on the menu, you best bet I’ll be ordering it. I got their Classic Avocado ($7.50), which had fresh avocado mash with house seasoning over sourdough bread. I really liked the addition of the house seasoning because it added more spice than your traditional salt and pepper.
This was one of the most unique experiences I’ve had when getting coffee—purely because of its location. Definitely worth visiting!
📍110 William St Lower Level, PECK SLIP, NY 10038
3. Gregorys Coffee
Even though Gregorys Coffee is a chain coffee shop, it’s actually a family-run business (according to their site!). To provide fresh coffee, the beans are roasted in Long Island City four days a week. They even have limited edition single-origin coffee blends in their stores that can be purchased.
I was surprised by how many options they had on their menu, as many of them sounded so intriguing. They had flavors like salted caramel, honey, and Nutella—just to name a few! I ended up getting the Iced Fall Out Boy ($5.85), which was their Night Vision Espresso infused with cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup and hazelnut with oat milk. To be honest, I might have ordered it solely for the name; but that wasn’t an issue because the drink was absolutely delicious! It was a nice blend of fall flavors that complemented the richness of the espresso. I’ll have to come again to try the Blue Dream ($5.95) for its butter pecan vegan cold foam…
There are so many locations throughout the city, so I would highly recommend stopping by one to try their innovative drinks!
📍42 Broadway, New York, NY 10004
4. Blue Spoon Coffee Company
Blue Spoon Coffee Company is a small, local coffee shop serving Intelligentsia brand coffee. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming; it definitely gave the vibes of a neighborhood coffee spot with its quaint interior and friendly staff.
I had one of the best flat whites here. Their Flat White ($4.95) was rich and velvety with the perfect amount of steamed milk. The microfoam at the top of the drink was so smooth. Everyone also raves about the Honey Lavender Latte ($6.35), so I’ll be back to try it because that’s one of my favorite flavor combinations. In addition to drinks, Blue Spoon Coffee Company also serves breakfast and lunch foods like eggs, bagels, sandwiches, and salads. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink and a quick meal!
Cozy isn’t a word I would usually use to describe FiDi, but this place exudes cozy energy. If you’re looking to support local businesses, come here!
📍90 William St, New York, NY 10038
5. Conwell Coffee Hall
Have you ever had coffee served in a bank before? Conwell Coffee Hall calls itself a “coffee shop, eatery, and gathering spot in the legendary Life and Trust Bank.” The inside of the building is magnificent; with its high ceilings and tall columns, it feels like a step back in time to the Roaring Twenties.
I ordered their Latte ($6) and added their housemade Salted Dark Caramel syrup ($1.5). They said that their coffee is made from a proprietary blend that’s roasted in Brooklyn and their milk is from Arethusa farm in Connecticut. The balance between salty and sweet from the syrup made the drink SO good. The bitterness from the coffee also helped to cut through the sweetness and added a complex taste.
On their non-alcoholic menu (yes they also serve alcohol!), they had something called the Manhattan Special Coffee Soda ($7) that piqued my interest. If you’re hungry, they also have food menu items!
Overall, it was a great experience to be able to enjoy a coffee in such a grand and historic bank lobby setting.
📍6 Hanover St, New York, NY 10005
6. Black Fox Coffee Co.
Black Fox Coffee Co. sits on Pine Street in the 70 Pine apartment complex. I heard about this place from a friend and had to try because she raved about their drinks. They had some really fun latte flavors like Rose Water Mocha ($8.50), Honey Blossom ($7.50), and Sesame Chai ($7.50). Those all sounded so good to me, but my friend recommended I get their Iced Matcha ($6.50). She said that it was one of the best matchas she’s had from a place that does not specialize in matcha.
Immediately, I could tell that this was a great quality matcha. I didn’t even have to taste it to know because the green was so vibrant and bright. I’ve ordered a lot of drinks before where the color looks very dull—which means they’re probably not using ceremonial grade matcha. This one was earthy and smooth and everything I would want from a matcha latte.
I also really liked the atmosphere here, as I could easily picture myself coming to do some work or catch up with a friend. After visiting, I understand why this is so many people’s go-to coffee spot in FiDI; if I live in this area, I know it would be my favorite!
📍70 Pine St, New York, NY 10005
7. Cafe Grumpy
You can find Cafe Grumpy a few streets over from the iconic Charging Bull statue! Easily recognizable by its frowny face logo, Cafe Grumpy is one of my favorite places to get coffee. I especially love their branding and merch, which makes the overall cafe-going experience even more enjoyable.
The shop itself is cute and small; be prepared to wait for a seat if you come during a busy time. It might be hard to set up shop and do work here, but it’s close enough to the edge of FiDi for you to grab a drink and take a walk along the waterfront.
My go-to order here is the Honey Oat Latte ($6.25). I’ve had both the iced and hot version, but I prefer the hot version because of the steamed milk. The light touch of honey perfectly complemented the espresso and made for such a delicious drink. Contrary to its name, I’m definitely not grumpy when I’m having coffee here! I don’t think anyone could keep a frown on their face after having a sip of the espresso drinks here.
Be sure to try out Cafe Grumpy if you have the chance to!
📍134 Eldridge St, New York, NY 10002
8. Ten Thousand Coffee
Anyone who’s on NYC coffee shop TikTok has probably seen Ten Thousand Coffee come up as a recommendation. They’re known for their Einspanner and specialty coffees that are all Instagram worthy. The interior is very minimalist and clean, reminding me of cafes you would find in Korea. Interestingly enough, they’re a global brand but don’t have a store in Korea (only Taiwan, Vietnam, and Australia!).
They had new summer drinks when I went; my favorite summer menu item was the Jeju Tangerine Matcha-ade ($6.95). They really nailed the tangerine flavor. I never would have thought to pair tangerine and matcha together, but the drink was so fruity and refreshing. Absolutely perfect for summer. My friend ordered the Signature Einspanner ($6.95), which was espresso topped with fluffy cream. It was decadent and creamy! There wasn’t too much cream to let the bold espresso flavor shine through.
After trying these drinks, I can add Ten Thousand Coffee to my list of excellent coffee shops. Granted, the coffees have a higher price point—but hey, this is New York and for the quality and taste, it’s definitely worth the splurge.

9. SUITED
SUITED aims to provide an elevated cafe experience with high-quality coffee and a refined ambiance. What’s special about this cafe is that they have a good selection of both international and local beans that you can purchase. There’s a good amount of seating both inside and outside, making it a comfortable place to enjoy your coffee.
They even do pour overs here if you’re into lighter-bodied coffees! For those who want something to eat, they serve breakfast/brunch foods, sandwiches, salads, and bowls. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich & Crispy Potatoes ($19) to go with my Cappuccino ($5.50). The brioche bun was so soft and the chicken was perfectly fried. It was such a great bite and I washed it all down with a rich and creamy cappuccino.
I had such a great time here that I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful cafe experience!
📍45 John St, New York, NY 10038
10. La Colombe
Everyone knows La Colombe. There was a time before where I was addicted to their canned coffee drinks. It’s great to know that there are several La Colombe storefronts in New York! The one on Wall Street is in the heart of FiDi, which makes it a prime location for a quick pick-me-up in the middle of the day for all the corporate professionals.
I ordered the Oat Half Tan ($6). This drink is a combination of an oat milk latte draft and cold brew. The addition of the cold brew made it stronger than a typical latte and added a bold coffee flavor. The cold brew wasn’t too acidic or bitter and was so smooth with the oat milk. Definitely tasted like an elevated latte!
One thing I wanted to point out was how fast service was here. It was pretty busy when I went, but I didn’t wait long. All you bankers—come here for your coffee!
