If you’re searching for your next mind-bending pizza place, check out my honest review of Song E Napule Soho!
Song’ E Napule has some of the best pizza I’ve tried in NYC! I tried their SoHo location just a few doors down the original one and I liked it more!
You get the same mind-bending pizzas but with modern decor and a more cheerful vibe. Song’ E Napule Soho is perfect for a chill date or catch up, and it’s great for families, too!
Food
Song’ E Napule is primarily known for their legendary Italian pizzas (their pastas are delicious too!).
The crust is silky, thin and chewy at the same time, and salted just the right amount. You can feel the care put into the ingredients — the cheese, in particular, is flavorful and excellent.
Bufalina ($22)
Menu Description: “Tomato Sauce (San Marzano Rega DOP), buffalo mozzarella, basil and extra virgin olive oil.”
I would recommend the bufalina, which is a buffalo mozzarella pizza with tomato sauce. The thin, chewy crust bodes well with mouthfuls of rich buffalo mozzarella. The combination was deeply satisfying!
Rating: 10/10
Primavera ($24)
Menu Description: “Mozzarella (fior di latte di Agerola), arugula, prosciutto di Parma, cherry tomatoes, shaved Parmigiano reggiano and extra virgin olive oil.”
The primavera is a prosciutto pizza with mozzarella and arugula. The flavorful shaved Parmesan really gives off a strong, addicting kick. Paired with the maturely bitter but fresh arugula, this pizza is full of flavor.
The only reason I give it a 8.5 is because the beauty of the shaved Parmesan masks the flavor of the prosciutto, which was a bit disappointing.
Rating: 8.5/10
Tiramisu ($12)
I would definitely recommend wrapping up your meal with their tiramisu.
The breading was deliciously soaked with the creamy, liquory body of the tiramisu.
I give it an 8 because it wasn’t mind-bending, but definitely a very tasty and worthwhile treat.
Rating: 8/10
Venue & Vibe
Song’ E Napule has a cheerful, welcoming vibe. It’s blue-themed, complete with blue patterned ceramic tiles and blue-purple ambient lighting in the evenings.
There’s photos of Maradona everywhere, and pasta and wine bottles dotted around the venue. It feels like a summer day inside.
It’s tastefully tacky, in the best way possible — very charming and friendly!
The set up and vibe of this SoHo location is a far departure from the original Song E’ Napule a few doors down. It’s spacious for a popular West Village eatery, and you’re not seated elbow to elbow with other diners.
Service
The service was great.
We had a hilarious incident. I was badgering my friend to hold up our table light so I could get a better photo of our pizzas.
When the servers realized saw what was happening, one by one, they joined in with more table lamps (and even their iPhone camera).
It was so funny and charming at the same time.
The birthday service was super cute.
There was a birthday going on at one of the tables, and they made the room darker and the servers all came all together to sing happy birthday.
You could feel the camaraderie and friendliness between the servers.
Song E Napule Soho Review (Conclusion)
I would 10/10 recommend Song E Napule Soho! I would come back for the bufalina pizza any day. It’s the perfect place for a lively yet comfortable date or meet up with friends.
